About learning

One HIP objective is to facilitate the knowledge flows between people, be it explicit (information) or implicit (socialization/internalization ). Knowledge sharing requires actors to seek out information proactively and to use it rather than waiting for it to appear. Thus the flow approach emphasizes the need for both “push” and “pull” processes.

The Learning section of HIP's web site will focus on interactive dialogues among people to share knowledge and information about hygiene improvement. HIP will create opportunities for people to discuss and debate critical issues around hygiene improvement and behavior change through electronic conferences. Where appropriate, HIP will foster communities of practice to come together on specific issues. HIP will also review important new ideas and present position papers for comment.
